Coaching has a practical focus on helping clients identify and accomplish goals that help lead them to a better quality of life, while feeling more satisfied and fulfilled. Coaching does this by goal-setting; creating a step-by-step plan on how to achieve these goals and develop important skills where needed for growth and development.

Therapy helps clients with diagnosed mental health conditions. Therapy typically focuses more on healing from past experiences and processing trauma, where coaching helps to elevate you in a particular area and get you to where you wish to be next.

With your permission, I can speak with your mental health provider, if you think it would be helpful. I am also obligated to refer clients in need of mental health services to an appropriate licensed professional.

HOW IS COACHING DIFFERENT FROM THERAPY?

WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT FROM OTHER COACHES?

I work with people who have autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and or have intellectual disabilities (ID). As a coach who will be working with a neurodivergent population, my niche is to help clients on the autism spectrum, process information in a way that helps improve awareness and understanding of their unique abilities and talents while building self-esteem and efficient communication, in whichever way they are comfortable.

My passion is working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities. Given my academic background and clinical experience, I have a unique understanding of the daily challenges neurodivergent people face and can work to help support you as you improve your daily life skills, emotional intelligence and communication.

DO YOU NEED A DIAGNOSIS OF ASD OR ID TO WORK WITH ME?

YES! A medical diagnosis of having an ASD, social (pragmatic) communication disorder (otherwise known as Asperger’s Syndrome) or ID (intellectual disability) is required. The diagnosis can either come from a medical professional or a licensed clinical psychologist.

While it is possible for individuals to recognize traits of autism in themselves, self-diagnosis should not be considered a substitute for a formal diagnosis by a qualified healthcare professional. ASD is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that requires thorough assessment by specialists such as psychologists, psychiatrists or developmental pediatricians who are trained in diagnosing autism. If you feel that you may fit into this category, please reach out and we can discuss different options.

WILL YOU WORK WITH THE CLIENT’S FAMILY MEMBERS AND/OR SIBLINGS WHO ARE NOT ON THE SPECTRUM?

YES! My services are inclusive to family members who are not diagnosed with autism. My aim is to create an inclusive environment where all families can benefit from support, education and community connections.
